The Roland Sands Design Hemlock Leather Jacket in Alder is a riding jacket built at the top end of what a leather jacket can be. Constructed from ultra-premium, water-resistant treated 100% cowhide leather that's soft and supple from the first wear, it's a jacket that doesn't ask you to break it in – it arrives ready. The Alder colourway gives it a distinctive, contemporary finish that sets it apart from the standard black leather riding jacket.
Certified to CE EN 17092:2020 – AA rated, the Hemlock sits at the second-highest protection level in the European standard for motorcycle clothing, with SAS-TEC™ flex armour at the elbows and shoulders certified to CE EN 1621:2021-1.
Water Resistance & Seam Sealing
The water-resistant leather treatment handles light to moderate rain without the need for a separate waterproof layer – the right approach for a premium leather jacket where a membrane lining would compromise the feel and drape of the hide. All critical seams are seam-sealed for additional protection against water ingress at the points where untreated leather jackets most commonly let water through. Waterproof cuff and sleeve zippers complete the weather protection at the wrists, where wind and rain enter most easily at speed.
SAS-TEC™ Armour
SAS-TEC™ flex armour at the elbows and shoulders is certified to CE EN 1621:2021-1. SAS-TEC is a rate-sensitive viscoelastic foam – soft and flexible during normal movement, stiffening instantly on impact to absorb and disperse energy. The flex construction moves with the jacket rather than creating rigid pressure points, which matters for comfort across a full day's riding in a fitted leather jacket.
An armour-ready back pocket is included for a back protector insert (sold separately), allowing riders to choose their own level of back protection.
Interior & Details
The interior is finished with a premium quilted liner – soft, warm, and in keeping with the quality of the leather shell. Side hand pocket zippers provide secure, accessible storage. Every finishing detail on the Hemlock is considered rather than standard.

Product Availability:
Product availability is shown on all products. Where a product states 'Coming Soon - Dispatched in X Days', this is the expected lead time before stock is delivered to our store. The delivery method you choose will not affect this lead time and only relates to the delivery service we use once the product has been delivered to us.
Custom Charges
If you are ordering goods for delivery outside the UK, please note that your consignment may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the goods reach the country of destination. Any such charges levied in relation to customs clearance must be paid by you. It is accepted by you that Maidstone Harley-Davidson has no control over additional charges in relation to customs clearance. Maidstone Harley-Davidson recommends that you check with your local customs officials or post office for more information regarding importation taxes/duties that may be applicable to your online order. You will be the importer of record and responsible for any import VAT and duty that needs to be paid. In addition, any charges for import clearance will be paid by you, the customer. Refunds of any returned order will be of the items only, not the services incurred.
Maidstone Harley-Davidson uses Royal Mail for smaller items and DHL for larger items (UK Shipping only)
Royal Mail deliveries are sent using the most appropriate service based on the value, size and weight of the parcel. If your item has not arrived within 5 working days on either service then please contact us by email shop@mshd.co.uk.
We also offer timed delivery services for faster delivery, which incur an additional charge over our standard delivery charges (£3.95 for orders below £60, free for orders over £60). All available delivery options are displayed during checkout.
Collect in-store:
Orders for in-store collection are FREE to collect, and are usually ready the same day, however there may occasionally be delays. A notification will be sent to you when your order is ready.
Please collect your items between 10am-5pm, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays. NOTE: Our store is currently closed on Wednesdays & Sundays. Orders placed on these days will be available for collection on the following working day.
Returns & refunds:
Your right to cancel and return begins from when you place the order and ends 14 working days from when you received the goods. If you wish to cancel or return your order you must inform us by email at shop@mshd.co.uk within this time frame. The buyer is responsible for paying the return postage and ensuring the goods are received back by us in as new condition. If you receive a faulty or broken item, you will be offered either a choice of a refund or replacement. Any return postage costs if an item is faulty or broken will be paid by harleydavidsondirect.co.uk
