The Roland Sands Design Palomar Jacket in Dark Olive is the second colourway of RSD's flight jacket-inspired riding jacket – the same construction, AA-rated protection, and period-correct orange internal liner as the Black version, in a finish that suits the military heritage of the flight jacket silhouette more directly. Olive and flight jackets have been inseparable since the original A-2 and MA-1 designs, and the combination works here for exactly the same reasons.
Certified to CE EN 17092:2020 – AA rated, with SAS-TEC™ flex armour at the elbows and shoulders certified to CE EN 1621:2021-1. The orange internal liner is the detail that makes the Palomar – period-correct, unexpected, and exactly right when the jacket comes unzipped.
Shell & Weather Protection
The outer shell is constructed from a lightweight twisted yarn polyester with a water-repellent finish for light weather protection without the bulk of a waterproof membrane. All outer pockets feature waterproof zippers, keeping the contents dry even when the shell is taking on moisture.
Rider-Specific Details
The classic flight jacket utility pocket has been moved to the right arm for accessibility while riding – the detail that separates a jacket designed for riding from one adapted from a fashion silhouette. An armour-ready back pocket is included for a back protector insert (sold separately).
SAS-TEC™ Armour
SAS-TEC™ flex armour at the elbows and shoulders is certified to CE EN 1621:2021-1 – rate-sensitive viscoelastic foam, soft and flexible during normal movement, stiffening instantly on impact to absorb and disperse energy.

All orders placed up until 9.00am are dispatched the same working day except for Wednesdays and Sundays when we are closed. Any order placed after 9.00am or on a Wednesday or Sunday may not be dispatched until the next working day.
Product Availability:
Product availability is shown on all products. Where a product states 'Coming Soon - Dispatched in X Days', this is the expected lead time before stock is delivered to our store. The delivery method you choose will not affect this lead time and only relates to the delivery service we use once the product has been delivered to us.
Custom Charges
If you are ordering goods for delivery outside the UK, please note that your consignment may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the goods reach the country of destination. Any such charges levied in relation to customs clearance must be paid by you. It is accepted by you that Maidstone Harley-Davidson has no control over additional charges in relation to customs clearance. Maidstone Harley-Davidson recommends that you check with your local customs officials or post office for more information regarding importation taxes/duties that may be applicable to your online order. You will be the importer of record and responsible for any import VAT and duty that needs to be paid. In addition, any charges for import clearance will be paid by you, the customer. Refunds of any returned order will be of the items only, not the services incurred.
Maidstone Harley-Davidson uses Royal Mail for smaller items and DHL for larger items (UK Shipping only)
Royal Mail deliveries are sent using the most appropriate service based on the value, size and weight of the parcel. If your item has not arrived within 5 working days on either service then please contact us by email shop@mshd.co.uk.
We also offer timed delivery services for faster delivery, which incur an additional charge over our standard delivery charges (£3.95 for orders below £60, free for orders over £60). All available delivery options are displayed during checkout.
Collect in-store:
Orders for in-store collection are FREE to collect, and are usually ready the same day, however there may occasionally be delays. A notification will be sent to you when your order is ready.
Please collect your items between 10am-5pm, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays. NOTE: Our store is currently closed on Wednesdays & Sundays. Orders placed on these days will be available for collection on the following working day.
Returns & refunds:
Your right to cancel and return begins from when you place the order and ends 14 working days from when you received the goods. If you wish to cancel or return your order you must inform us by email at shop@mshd.co.uk within this time frame. The buyer is responsible for paying the return postage and ensuring the goods are received back by us in as new condition. If you receive a faulty or broken item, you will be offered either a choice of a refund or replacement. Any return postage costs if an item is faulty or broken will be paid by harleydavidsondirect.co.uk
